Jump Into Blue Sky and Career Transformation

Establishing a recycling business adventure in Adelaide is a long way from a career in the Chinese central government but Chinese national, Jason Zhifei Xue was looking for a change of pace and a family-friendly environment for his teenage daughter.

After applying for a Business Migrant 163 Visa through Immigration SA’s state nomination process, Jason attended free consultation services provided by Immigration SA to newly arrived business migrants.

Within a year of arriving in South Australia, Jason has established Hackham Recyclers which employs 12 people.

Jason is now studying a Diploma of Management at TAFE SA.

His wife, Lily, has improved her English level significantly by attending an English course at TAFE SA, a vocational education trainer, partially funded by the Department of State Development’s Skills for All program.

“The training has given me confidence to talk to local communities and our employees,” Lily said.

The couple is planning to expand their business within South Australia.

“Adelaide is our home,” Lily said.

“Our house is here, our business and team is here and I have made business networks here.

“If people are looking for business opportunities as well as a relaxed lifestyle, they should make Adelaide their home.”
